In September of 2015, I brought 26 disposable cameras with me to Burning Man. I labeled them: "Community Cameras".
The goal of this project was to collect memories that other people experienced. Moments that we all could relate to, but from a different perspective. A glimpse at everything going on outside of a single field of view.
I passed out all 26 cameras and waited patiently to have them returned to my camp, or shipped to me. And I'm still waiting... I got 2 back out of the bunch. What happened? I guess that everyone who took the last photos on the cameras wanted to keep the memories for themselves. Maybe not necessarily out of greed, but to ensure they could reflect on their magical journey later on in life. For my second attempt at this project, I wanted it to be known to all those who participate that your memories WILL be saved forever, but collectively here online, for everyone to enjoy together!
This time around, I managed to get back 6/24 cameras! I think we can do even better this year! I'm blessed to have fallen into a community that has taught me and many others so very much about love and connection and oneness. A community that changes lives for the better, in the name of love. In the name of Music. Art. Creativity. Expression... We are all...
